Rosie O'Donnell and Michelle Rounds are full of surprises. Weeks after revealing two big health scares, congratulations are in order -- the pair are married!
Blogging in her trademark poetic style, Rosie O'Donnell announced she and Michelle Rounds are wife and wife Monday, in a post titled "art 4 sale."
Recounting the summer's chaotic events, including Michelle's desmoid tumors diagnosis and her own massive heart attack, the 50-year-old wrote in part:
we were to wed 10 days ago
but her illness forced us to postpone the wedding
luckily -
as i was in ICU that day
when it rains …
things grow
like love and flowers
humans too
so on we go
we married in private
before her surgery
just the 2 of us
A rep for Rosie O'Donnell has confirmed the nuptials occurred on June 9, adding, "They got married but they haven't had the wedding celebration."
Indeed a larger celebration is in the works, as hinted at by the poet-blogger. "When we r both well enough/will have the wedding of r dreams/surrounded by those we cherish," the heart-attack survivor wrote.
In the meantime, the near-death experience seems to have brought out Rosie O'Donnell's creative side. "i have been painting a lot/since my heart attack 2 weeks ago/those paintings r for sale," the comedienne turned artist blogged. One of the works, featured in the video below, is currently listed on ebay.
Rosie O'Donnell promises that not only will all of the money made will be donated to DTRF.ORG, the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation, but she will personally match the amount!
